HARTFORD, CONN. – Emily Morano (Olyphant, PA/Mid Valley) scored 24 points as the Cortland women's basketball team defeated Saint Vincent College, 62-51, in the opening round of the NCAA Division III tournament at Trinity College.
The top three teams in Division III women's basketball completed perfect runs to the NCAA Tournament by winning their automatic bids on Saturday. Elsewhere, Knox College secured its first ever Tournament bid, Cortland busted a bubble and the ASC tournament had a surprise winner.

POTSDAM, N.Y. – Cortland limited Potsdam to 13 points and 13 percent shooting in the second half to overcome a halftime deficit and the Red Dragons defeated the host Bears, 60-44, in a SUNYAC women’s basketball contest.
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Cortland outscored Plattsburgh 36-2 over the final 15 minutes to erase a small deficit and the Red Dragons defeated the host Cardinals, 70-39, in SUNYAC women's basketball action.
BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The Cortland women's basketball team improved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in SUNYAC play and handed host Brockport its first league loss with a 71-41 win over the Golden Eagles.
FREDONIA, N.Y. – Cortland raced out to a 35-10 lead after one quarter and the Red Dragons cruised past host Fredonia, 102-45, in SUNYAC women's basketball action. Cortland's 102 points are its highest total since a 103-62 win at SUNYIT in January 2008.

ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Cortland women’s basketball team mounted a 16-1 run spanning the second and third quarters and the Red Dragons posted their 17th consecutive win with a 58-39 triumph at Oneonta.
CORTLAND, N.Y. – The Cortland women's basketball team trailed Potsdam by two points midway through the third quarter but finished the period on a 18-5 run on its way to a 72-51 win over the visiting Bears. Cortland (17-2, 13-0 SUNYAC) notched its 16th straight victory, the longest since a 20-game win streak in 2009-10 and tied for the sixth longest win streak all-time in program history. The program record is 22 straight wins to open the 1999-2000 season.

The game featured the top two teams in the SUNYAC - Cortland improved to 13-2 overall and remained atop the league standings with a 9-0 mark. New Paltz, the defending 2020 SUNYAC tournament champion, entered the game second in the conference and is now 12-5 overall and 8-3 in league action.

Cortland earned its 10th straight victory to improve to 11-2 overall and remain in first place in the league standings with a 7-0 conference mark. The 31 points are the fewest Cortland has allowed to a SUNYAC opponent since a 53-25 win at Buffalo State in February 2009.
