Cortland Women Reach 20-Win Mark for Third Straight Season with Victory at Buffalo St.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Thirteen players reached the scoring column as Cortland defeated host Buffalo State, 70-42, in a SUNYAC women's basketball contest. With the win, the Red Dragons (20-4, 15-2 SUNYAC) reached the 20-win mark for the third consecutive season and the 17th time overall. 
 
Lily Woodis (Mayville/Chautauqua Lake) finished with career highs of 12 points and four rebounds, all in the second half. She was 5-for-6 from the field, 2-of-3 from 3-point range. Emily Morano (Olyphant, PA/Mid Valley) scored 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Brooke Tillotson (Marathon) tallied a career-best eight points, all in the second half. She was 3-for-5 from the floor with two 3-pointers. 
 
Sarah Tully (East Aurora) finished with eight points and Nyia Longford (Medford/Longwood) scored six points, and the two shared the team lead with eight rebounds apiece. Logan Streety (Elma/Iroquois) also scored six points and hauled in four rebounds. 
 
Adiya Jones and Carly Atty scored seven points each and Jadyn Jones and Brianna Smith each scored six points for the Bengals (2-22, 0-15 SUNYAC). Jones led the team with six rebounds. 
 
Cortland led 16-9 after the first quarter and 24-14 at halftime. The Red Dragons exploded for 46 points in the second half, extending their lead to 46-26 after three quarters and to as much as 34 points in the final period. 
 
Cortland closes the regular season Saturday at 3 p.m. at Geneseo.
