Women's

Kaiya Mack

Mack was named Most Outstanding Player at the D3hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas, where she led Cal Lutheran to two wins, part of a 5-0 holiday break where she averaged 17 points per game on 58% shooting, including an amazing 53% from outside the arc.  The highlight of the break came with a 39 point scoring performance against Wittenberg. 

 

Erin Lillis

Lillis poured in a season-high 27 points as Rochester upended Cortland (previously 7-1) 91-81 on Saturday afternoon to open the second semester schedule. She made 10-15 (67%) from the floor, was 50% from 3-point range and made 5-6 from the free throw line to lead Rochester. Lillis also added five rebounds and a team-high six assists in the victory.

 

Cara Walker

Walker powered the Fighting Tigers to a 2-0 start to the new year with standout performances in victories over Western Connecticut, 78-61, and Tufts University, 60-58. Against WestConn, Walker flirted with a triple-double, tallying 16 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and a steal while shooting 4-of-6 from the field, 1-of-2 from three, and 7-of-8 from the line. She followed that up with a game-high 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and a steal in the win over Tufts, shooting 7-of-11 from the field and 4-of-6 from the line, including a clutch free throw to secure the victory. For the week, Walker averaged 18 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and a steal, shooting 65% from the field and 79% from the line.

 

Grace Bezold

Bezold led the Panthers to a 3-0 stretch including a victory over then-ranked UMass-Dartmouth. She averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds per game, shooting 50% from the floor. 

 

Arianna Gerig

Gerig averaged 23 points, seven rebounds, and three steals per game during a 3-0 record over the last few weeks for the Ephs. She was the complete package during a 2-0 effort for the Ephs at the Cruzin Classic in Florida, averaging 27 points in efficient fashion, shooting a combined 22 of 37 from the field (60%). Gerig scored 26 points on 13-of-20 shooting from the field, to go along with nine rebounds, during a 59-48 triumph over Concordia (Wis.). She then recorded a season-high 27 points and tied a season-best six steals, shooting 9 of 17 from the field and 9 for 9 from the free-throw line, in a 58-54 win over No. 12 Gettysburg.

 

Men's

Hank Morgan

Morgan was named MVP of the Stevens Institute of Technology Holiday Tournament, leading Hamilton to two wins over the host Ducks and York (Pa), against whom he poured in a career-high 32 points.  Morgan averaged 28 points and six rebounds, with two assists and two steals per game.  He shot 60% from the floor and was 5-13 from the three-point line.

 

Angel Johnson

Johnson was outstanding over the holiday break in helping the Celts extend their winning streak to five and improve to a perfect 2-0 in league play after securing a road win at Colorado College and knocking off UC Santa Cruz. In two games, Johnson averaged 24 points on 47% shooting, including a red hot 50% from three-point range and added seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals per game. In the win over the Tigers, Johnson poured in a career-high 30 points, connecting on 8-for-15 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds. 

 

Felix Kloman

Kloman averaged 19 points on 49% shooting to go along with four rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and two steals in a trio of wins last week. He was named MVP at the E.M. "Mose" Hole Classic after scoring 22 points against Case Western Reserve and recording 16 points with three blocks, three steals, and two assists in a 69-61 win over No. 10 Wooster. Kloman capped the week with 19 points, a career-high seven assists, and five rebounds to help the Beavers outlast No. 6 Trinity 99-89 in 2OT on Saturday. 

 

Jack Plesser

Plesser averaged 26 points and eight rebounds per game on 51% shooting in a pair of contests at the Emory Holiday Classic. Hestarted the week with a game-high 27 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field and an 8-of-8 effort from the line in a 73-71 win over LaGrange, including the go-ahead basket with three seconds remaining to break the tie and provide the final points of the game. Plesser then nearly led Union to a massive upset of then No. 1 Emory the next day, scoring 24 points with a season-high 11 rebounds in a 77-71 defeat. 

 

Carter Huschka

Huschka averaged a double-double across two games, but also contributed as a facilitator and defensive standout, extending his streak of scoring in double figures to 30 consecutive games, with 25 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and two steals in the team's WIAC opener against UW-La Crosse.  He then had 18 points, seven rebounds, three steals, two assists, and two blocks against Carleton on December 30.
