  • Nazareth Wraps Regular Season with 77-64 win over Fisher

    ROCHESTER, NY – Freshman Merritt Hollyrecorded his sixth double-double of the season (18 points, 11 rebounds) and Tyler Putney led Nazareth with 19 points as Nazareth defeated East Avenue rival 77-64 in the second go around of the Battle of the Beaks. With the Golden Flyers win and a Utica (11-4) victory over SUNY Poly (11-5) by a 80-72 score on Tuesday, Nazareth has secured at least the number 3 seed for the upcoming Empire 8 Championships. The Golden Flyers would move up to the No. 2 seed with Utica loss at Keuka on Wednesday.

Four scorers for Nazareth netted double figures, headlined by freshman Merritt Hollytallying a double-double with 19 points and13 rebounds.

    ROCHESTER, NY – Graduate student Jonathan Park moved into third place all-time in career rebounds (912) as Nazareth rolled to an 81-59 victory over Keuka College on Tuesday night. He had 19 points on 9-for-13 from the field, including three dunks, in addition to 15 boards. It was his 13th double-double of the season. Park trails only Brad Ford '14 (944) and Chris Pegan '98 (946) for on the career record book.

    ROCHESTER, NY – Freshman Jaylen Savage scored 17 of his game-high 23 points in the second half to lead the Nazareth Men’s Basketball team to a convincing 84-53 win over Medaille Saturday in an Empire 8 game at Kidera Gym. Nazareth (17-4 overall, 11-3 Empire 8) led by just eight points at 32-24 after the first 20 minutes of action as the Golden Flyers hit 41.4 percent (12-of-29) from the field and were limited to 1-of-10 shooting from 3-point range.

The Golden Flyers (13-2 overall, 7-1 E8), ranked #25 in the latest d3hoops.com national poll, jumped out to an early 10-0 lead and held a 16-point edge at 22-6 eight minutes into the contest.

    ROCHESTER, NY – Visiting Utica roared back from down by as many as 15 points in the second half to send the game to overtime and eventually hand 19th-ranked Nazareth its first conference loss of the season on Tuesday night, 85-81. Senior Jordan Haggard had a season-high 23 points on 8-for-10 from the field and was a perfect 5-for-5 from downtown.

    BUFFALO, NY – 20th-ranked Nazareth held off a gritty Medaille squad on Friday night as five players scored in double-figures in a 78-70 victory, led by Jonathan Park's seventh double-double of the season. Park was 8-for-11 from the field for 18 points, with 17 rebounds and two blocks. Jordan Haggard scored in double-figures for the third-straight game with 16 points on 6-for-12 to go along with six boards. Jaylen Savage added 14 points, while Zach Stenglein and Logan Blankenberg each poured in 13 points apiece.

    ROCHESTER, NY – Freshman Jaylen Savage scored a game-high 24 points to help Nazareth hand No. 5 Oswego its first loss of the season, 80-77, Tuesday night at Kidera Gymnasium. It was a career-high in for points for Savage as he went 9-for-19 from the floor and had two steals.
  • Park and Company Roll Past Cortland 79-44 To Win Mike Daley Memorial Tournament

    ROCHESTER, NY – Nazareth exploded out of the gates against Cortland on Saturday afternoon and never looked back, defeating the Red Dragons 79-44 in the championship game of the Mike Daley Memorial Tournament. Graduate student Jonathan Park was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament after scoring a game-high 25 points on 12-for-16 shooting, to go along with 15 rebounds, and six blocks. Joining Park on the all-tournament team were Zach Stenglein and Logan Blankenberg. With the win, Nazareth improves to 2-0 on the season.
