    No. 4 Illinois Wesleyan held off No. 17 UW-Oshkosh to win the Jack Sikma Hall of Fame Invitational. Earlier No. 3 Marietta was marooned in Salem and No. 8 Swarthmore survived at Scranton. On the women's side, the Lady Royals reigned in their Top 25 battle with DeSales.

    Surprise! Hoopsville is already On the Road this season. Dave McHugh was already in Salem, Va., for the D-III soccer championships, so he has stopped by Roanoke College for the men's game against Virginia Wesleyan and court dedication to former coach Charlie Moir.   • RC Men's Basketball Game at Greensboro Suspended

    The Men's Basketball game between Roanoke and Greensboro was suspended with 14:34 left in the second-half due to slippery conditions. No plans as to when the game will be completed are available at this time. The Maroons were leading 57-53 at the stoppage.

    John Caldwell led four Roanoke players in double-figures as the Maroons topped Worcester State 78-60 Friday night in the first round of the Dick Leftwhich Classic in Salem.

    Roanoke named Randolph College coach Clay Nunley as its new head coach, replacing Page Moir who retired after 27 seasons. Nunley had led the WildCats' program from its inception in 2007.
