News Releases

March 6, 2025 Men's NCAA Tournament preview We enter the 2025 Division III men's basketball NCAA Tournament with perhaps less confidence than ever before. Our Top 25 has first place votes split almost evenly among UW-Platteville, NYU, and Wesleyan and there were all sorts of upsets in conference tournaments. But Ryan Scott makes sense of it in his annual NCAA Tournament preview.
February 28, 2025 Pioneers Claim Second Straight WIAC Tournament Championship For the second consecutive season, and fifth time in program history, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's basketball team (25-2) were crowned WIAC Tournament Champions after putting together a dominant 89-68 home win over UW-La Crosse (22-5) on Friday night inside Williams Fieldhouse.
February 19, 2025 Pearson reaches 2,000-point plateau UW-Platteville guard Logan Pearson became the first men's basketball player to reach 2,000 points in a WIAC uniform in a generation as he helped the No. 3 Pioneers get past Whitewater on Wednesday.
February 5, 2025 Pioneers hold off Eagles in battle of ranked teams In a matchup of two of the top-ranked teams in NCAA DIII, the fourth-ranked UW-Platteville men's basketball team (18-2, 8-1 WIAC) moved into sole possession of the top spot in the WIAC standings with an 83-73 win over sixth-ranked UW-La Crosse (16-4, 7-2 WIAC) on Wednesday night inside Williams Fieldhouse in front of a crowd of 2,246 fans.
November 6, 2024 Ready for a second chance There were high hopes for the Gustavus Adolphus women's basketball team and the UW-Platteville men entering the NCAA Tournament last season, but both fell a little short of the prize. They are ready to put all that behind them, however, as we get ready for the 2024-25 season. Ryan Scott has more in Around the Nation.
March 7, 2024 Hoopsville: Elite Effort By the end of Friday night, only the elite of Division III will remain all hoping to be one of the final four remaining in their brackets. Thursday on Hoopsville, we talk to a number of programs looking to keep their championship goals in place. Tune in LIVE starting at 12:00 PM ET - right here!
