The rematch of last season's national championship game was no contest as No. 1 Augustana rolled over No. 7 Stevens Point, 81-58.

Hunter Hill's jumper sparked an 11-0 run in the first half for Augustana that put the Vikings ahead of the defending national champions for good. Another Hill jumper pushed Augustana's lead to 15 before halftime and the Vikings led by double-digits the rest of the way. Augustana shot 57 percent from the field (31-for-54), led by Hill (20 points) and Ben Ryan (6 points).

The lopsided victory caps an impressive week for Augustana. Combined with Wednesday's 75-55 win at No. 23 UW-Whitewater, the Vikings beat the last two national champions and top teams in one of Division III's best conferences by 43 points combined. Saturday's victory also makes Grey Giovanine the all-time leader for coaching wins at Augustana.

Fitchburg State snapped its three-game losing streak in surprising fashion by rallying past No. 13 WPI, 57-56. The Engineers led 56-51 with less than two minutes remaining but the Falcons held them to just one more field goal attempt the rest of the way. Kwame Lee made two free throws with seven seconds left to lift the Falcons to victory. Fitchburg improves to 4-5 while WPI slips to 7-1. Recap

Mitchell Biewen's layup with one second left capped Carlton's stunning come-from-behind win at No. 3 St. Thomas, 67-66. The Knights trailed by 15 midway through the second half before rallying for the victory. The Tommies have only lost three MIAC games at home since the start of the 2012-2013.

No. 5 Hope stayed perfect against Division III opponents with a 93-83 win at home over Carthage. Sam Otto hit seven 3-pointers and scored 27 points for the Flying Dutchmen.

No. 4 Amherst avenged last season's loss to Emerson by handling the Lions this afternoon, 99-74. The Lord Jeffs shot 67 percent from three (14-for-21) and had four starters score double figures.

Illinois Wesleyan shot 51 percent from the field and hit 11 three-pointers in a 67-57 win over No. 14 Washington U. Brady Rose had 15 points for the Titans who shot 68 percent in the second half.

Buffalo State shut down No. 25 Oswego State in the second half and sent the Lakers to their first loss, 66-56. The Bengals held Oswego State to 18 percent shooting in the second half (4-for-22). Jordan Chateau led Buffalo State with 22 points and nine rebounds.

No. 23 UW-Whitewater made six of its 10 free throw attempts in overtime and that was enough for the Warhawks to slip past Beloit, 73-71. Cole Van Schyndel scored 29 points for Whitewater while the Beloit starters scored all but two of the Buccaneers' points. No. 10 St. John Fisher beat Nazareth 83-66 in the consolation round of the Wendy's classic to snap its two game skid.

Beyond the Top 25: Eagles soaring, Tigers roaring

Outside the Top 25, Juniata remained perfect by holding off Scranton, 54-52. The Royals had a chance to tie the game when Brendan Boken was fouled with less than a second to play but could not make the free throws. Marcus Lee had 21 points and nine rebounds for the Eagles (7-0, 2-0).

Cody Jones' steal with 12 seconds left helped Sewanee hold off Piedmont, 60-57. Jones had nine points and three steals off the bench for the Tigers who are off to their best start in 18 years at 5-1.

Rochester fell to Division II Roberts Wesleyan 79-77 in the last game of the last Wendy's Classic. The tournament between Upstate New York teams was played for the 50th and final time as scheduling commitments for some participants will prevent further participation.

St. Norbert continued its dominance against conference opponents as the Green Knights topped Grinnell, 104-91. St. Norbert has won 47 conference games in a row dating back to February 9, 2013.

Eastern Nazarene improved to 8-0 with a 70-65 victory at Commonwealth Coast Conference preseason favorite Endicott. Lancaster Bible hit the century mark for the third consecutive game as the Chargers routed Bryn Athyn, 102-75.

Shaquan Turk rattled in a buzzer beater for Eastern to send its game against Delaware Valley to overtime, but the Aggies regrouped for an 81-79 victory. Delaware Valley has won five in a row, as has Skidmore which beat Middlebury 82-77. Edvinas Rupkus scored 24 points for the Thoroughbreads who enter their semester break with a 5-1 record.
