Wheaton, Ill. -- The Millikin women's basketball team came into King Arena on Saturday evening looking to win their 15th consecutive regular season conference game and further cement their position atop the CCIW standings, but the Wheaton Thunder had other plans for a special occasion. Before the Senior Night contest tipped off, the Thunder recognized three veteran players for their contributions to the program over the last few years. The celebrations did not end there, however, as the home side sprang an emphatic upset with a 66-48 win over the #25 team in the country and ended Millikin's bid to earn a perfect conference record. Senior Ellie Cassel had a performance to remember in her King Arena send-off, and rookie Anna Fernandez joined her as the second Thunder player to earn a double-double in Saturday's win. The result moves Wheaton to a 13-9 overall record and an 8-5 mark in CCIW action.

Despite seeing their slim halftime lead turn into an eight-point deficit in the third quarter, the Thunder rallied in the final frame to eventually earn a 63-57 win on the road. Wheaton's record now stands at 7-3 overall and 2-1 in CCIW play heading into the Christmas break.

Waukesha, Wisconsin - The Thunder women's basketball team rolled to a 62-39 victory at Carroll University (7-16, 4-10 CCIW) on Wednesday night. Wheaton is now 20-4 on the season with a 13-2 record in conference play. The victory gives Wheaton its fourth-consecutive 20-win season, the longest streak of consecutive 20-win seasons in program history. Tonight's victory stretched Wheaton's current win streak to 14 games, the longest for the program since a 14-game win-streak in 2004-05.
