Nebraska Wesleyan finished as national runner-up here in Salem back in 1997, finishing a run of four trips to the Division III Final Four. And on the fifth trip, the Prairie Wolves picked up the ultimate trophy: Walnut and Bronze. Ryan Scott with more from Salem.
The Prairie Wolves hit 73 3-pointers in the 2018 NCAA Tournament, finishing 14-for-22 in the title game, a 78-72 win vs. UW-Oshkosh in the final men's basketball championship in the Salem Civic Center.
UW-Oshkosh became the fifth Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team to play in the Division III national championship game, while Nebraska Wesleyan knocked off Springfield in overtime to return to the title game for the first time in 21 years.
