First round: Late surges lift winners
March 03, 2023Baldwin Wallace, Messiah and Mass-Dartmouth used late bursts to advance through the first round, while three ranked teams were sent packing in the opening round of the 2024 NCAA Division III women's basketball tournament. -
Falcons Fend Off Bears, Advance to Second Round
March 03, 2023The No. 9 Messiah women's basketball team passed their first test of the NCAA Tournament with a 47-43 victory over the visiting Bridgewater State Bears on Friday night. The Falcons held a six-point, 23-17 lead at the break after a low-scoring opening half and held off an aggressive Bears team late for the four-point victory. -

January 19, 2022Messiah head coach Mike Miller, who is eighth all-time in Division III women's basketball history for wins, added another on Wednesday night. He now has 700 after the Falcons defeated Hood. -
Women: Hope, Bowdoin pass first test
November 20, 2021No. 1 Hope and No. 13 Bowdoin won their Top 25 showdowns on Saturday afternoon while No. 7 Tufts rallied past Brandeis, No. 5 Messiah edged No. 9 DeSales and the Maine event was a triple-overtime game in Bangor. Get the full recap here. -

March 05, 2021The WIAC basketball seasons ended with UW-Oshkosh celebrating another women's title and UW-Platteville cruising to the men's crown. Elsewhere the Messiah women stayed perfect and the NJAC and SAA women's tournaments tipped off. -

March 17, 2020After missing all of last season due to injury, Messiah's Leah Springer bounced back to become the Mid-Atlantic Player of the Year. Coach of the Year honors go to Mike Miller of Messiah and Rookie of the Year is CNU's Anaya Simmons. -

January 18, 2020No. 1 Tufts knocked No. 4 Amherst a step back in the three-way race for first in the NESCAC, and Messiah knocked No. 24 Albright off the list of unbeaten teams. Elsewhere No. 8 Whitman rallied past No. 16 George Fox and No. 6 UW-Whitewater stayed hot. -
Saturday women: Temple dooms UWW
December 01, 2018All-American Madison Temple put her full range of skills on display as No. 4 Thomas More shut down No. 17 UW-Whitewater. Elsewhere No. 14 Messiah won at No. 11 CNU and W&L hung an L on E&H. -

Springer providing bounce off the bench
February 14, 2018When Messiah lost starting forward Alecia Rohrer to injury early in the season, Leah Springer stepped in and led the team to a 9-0 start. Now Rohrer is back and Springer comes off the bench to give the Falcons a potent low-post scoring punch. -
