March 7, 2025 Nationally-Ranked CNU Women's Basketball Falls to Montclair State, 67-64, in NCAA Tournament Opening Round WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The nationally-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team nearly erased a double-digit fourth quarter deficit but came up just short as the Captains (26-2) closed their season with a loss in the NCAA Tournament Opening Round against Montclair State, 67-64. CNU trailed by 11 with seven minutes to play before catching fire with 21 points in the final stretch but the Red Hawks did just enough to hold off the Captains comeback and advanced to Saturday's second round. 
February 28, 2025 Hot Start Leads No. 3 CNU Women's Basketball to C2C Semifinal Win Over UC Santa Cruz, 76-50 MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Earning a trip back to the conference championship game for the eighth consecutive season, the third-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team used a hot start and strong shooting performance to take down #4-seeded UC Santa Cruz (8-17) in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals, 76-50.
February 15, 2025 No. 4 Captains Keep Winning Streak Alive With 65-44 Win at Mary Washington on Saturday NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- With another suffocating defensive performance, the nationally-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team improved to 23-1 overall after polishing off a 16th straight win on Saturday afternoon. The Captains dropped Mary Washington, 65-44, on the road and were led by fifth-year seniors Gabbi San Diego (13 pts) and Camille Malagar (12 pts) in the game.

February 8, 2025 Seniors Shine as Nationally-Ranked Captains Close Out Perfect Regular Season at Home with 78-44 Win Over Penn State Harrisburg NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- An accomplished assortment of seniors took the floor at the Freeman Center for the final time in the regular season on Saturday and entertained the home crowd with an astonishing runaway victory. The nationally-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team capped an undefeated run at home and improved to 22-1 overall this season wih a 78-44 victory against Penn State Harrisburg (15-8) on Saturday afternoon. 
February 1, 2025 Freshman Class Scores 64 as No. 5 Captains Roll to 92-39 Win Over Regent on Saturday NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The first career double-double from rookie Emma O'Connor highlighted a dominant performance by the underclassmen on Saturday afternoon as the fifth-ranked Captains improved to 21-1 behind a 92-39 victory against Regent University (1-12). With 64 points from first-year players and all but five points in the game scored by underclassmen, the CNU women's basketball team captured the 14th straight win while maintaining a perfect record at the Freeman Center in 2024-25.
