Dylan Richter shot 5-for-8 from three-point range en route to 27 points and Washington U. held No. 1 Augustana to 7-for-24 shooting from downtown and 37 percent from the floor in beating the Vikings 71-68.

It's the first loss for Augustana this season and the second loss for a No. 1 men's team in as many weeks.

Sophomore guard Kevin Krakowiak scored a season-high 17 points as Baldwin-Wallace upset No. 4 Marietta 93-74. Kevin Knab led the Pioneers with a game-high 27.

Cabrini edged past Keystone 95-92 when John Boyd banked in a three-pointer from 25-feet out with 1.7 seconds left. Boyd scored a career-high 31 points and passed the 1,000 point milestone. Kenneth Hardnett tallied 26 points and 14 rebounds for the Giants.  Larry Thomas played the hero for No. 19 Birmingham-Southern. His three-pointer with 1 second left pushed the Panthers past Oglethorpe 63-62.

No. 13 Wheaton bounced back from Friday night's loss and nipped Calvin 71-68. The Thunder trailed 60-47 with 6:12 remaining but ripped off a 18-0 run to seize the lead. Hope capped a big weekend by routing Carthage, 89-59.

WIAC conference action will undoubtedly have some surprises, but opening day went according to form. The three nationally ranked teams, UW-Whitewater, UW-Stevens Point and UW-River Falls, all won by double-digits.

Stefan Thompson and his Hobart teammates are 6-0 after Saturday's win.

Outside the Top 25, DePauw won its NCAC debut in dramatic fashion. Tommy Weakley hit a three-pointer with 16 seconds left and the Tigers edged Kenyon 60-59. Hobart kept on rolling as the Statesmen beat Nazareth 72-63 to win the Wendy's College Classic. Hobart is coached by Mike Neer who won this tournament several times when he was Rochester's head coach and the event was called the JP Morgan Chase Tournament.

Fitchburg State beat Daniel Webster 72-71 to improve to 6-1 thanks to clutch free throw shooting by Mike Ingram-Rubin. He was fouled with one second left and the Falcons trailing by two. Ingram-Rubin hit all three shots, despite a timeout by Daniel Webster between the first and second attempt.

Scranton slipped past Moravian 78-74 in overtime in the Landmark Conference opener. D.J. Strayhorn scored 27 points in the loss for the Greyhounds. Merchant Marine overcame 36 points by Drew's Asmar Capers and won in double-overtime 94-87. Michael Woolf drove the length of the floor and scored with 2.7 seconds left as Benedictine beat Concordia (Wis.) 66-65.

Long-time Swarthmore head coach Lee Wimberly resigned on Friday night. The Garnett Tide picked up their first win of the season on Saturday under interim coach Joe Culley by topping Ursinus 69-65. Arcadia won two games in the MAC Commonwealth conference all of last season and the Knights have already equaled that mark this season. They beat Lebanon Valley 69-67.
