UW-W never trailed in the game. The Warhawks accumulated a lead of 23 points with a 16-4 advantage in points in the paint and a 17-4 bulge in points off turnovers to go into the lockerroom ahead 42-19 at the half. Senior forward Chris Davis shot 9-15 including 3-4 from behind the arc in the first half to lead all scorers with 21 points. Whitewater forced 13 turnovers in the first twenty minutes while committing just five. The Warhawk defense held the Blue Devils to 25% (7-28) for field goals and the UW-W offense shot a blistering 61% (17-28) from the field in the first half.
Whitewater put together a 16-0 early second half run to take a 68-26 lead with 13:49 left to play. The largest lead of the game came at 7:12 off a layup by freshman center Steven Eagen that put the Warhawks up 44, 78-34. UW-Stout would finish the game on a 17-6 run making the final score 84-51.
UW-W shot 63% (34-54) from the floor in the game and held the Blue Devils to 32% (20-62). Whitewater also had the advantage from three point range knocking down 11-17 to Stout's 5-16. The Warhawks recorded 24 assists on 34 shots in the game.
Davis posted a game high 29 points. Sophomore guard Eric Bryson (Elkhorn) added 11 points on a perfect 4-4 day from field including 2-2 outing from behind the arc and 1-1 from the free throw line while adding a game high three steals on the defensive side of the ball. Sophomore guard Alex Merg (Greendale) dished out seven assists in the game. Freshman center Justin Scanlan (Plainfield, IL) grabbed seven boards and recorded three blocked shots.
Jarvis Ragland, a sophomore forward, led the Blue Devils with 15 points. Thomas Scholle-Malone matched Scanlan's game high honors with seven boards.
UW-Stout falls to 3-4 this season.
