Men's
Phil Hogan
Hogan hit the game-winning four-point play with four seconds left
to give AU a 75-74 victory over Franklin on Saturday. He averaged
29 points and 6.5 assists per game in a 1-1 week for the Ravens,
shooting 7-for-16 from 3-point range and 15-for-20 from the
line.
Colin Wester
Wester averaged 25.3 points per game in three Northwest Conference
games last week to give Pacific their best record since the
1999-2000 season and keep the Boxers in the NWC playoff chase.
Wester scored a season-high 29 points in Friday's 85-60 rout of
Linfield. He then hit the the trying free throws with three seconds
left in the second half to tie their game with PLU on Saturday at
57-57. Pacific went on to win 68-62. He averaged 25.3 points and
6.3 rebounds per game.
Zach Mager
Mager put up 23.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week
for the Red Dragons. He shot 58 percent from the floor and 8-for-15
from beyond the arc.
Joe Keedy
Keedy had a career week for the Garnet, averaging 23 points per
game and eight rebounds per game while shooting 60 percent
(15-of-25) from the field in a 1-1 week. He scored a career-high 23
points and pulled down 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of
the season in an overtime loss to Washington College. He matched
that career high three days later, leading the Garnet to an upset
win over first-place Franklin and Marshall.
Kevin Hargrove
Hargrove averaged 26.5 points, 13.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocked shots
while shooting 66.7 percent from the field as Muhlenberg won a pair
of games to clinch a Centennial Conference playoff berth. He
recorded a double-double with 24 points and a career-high 17
rebounds against Dickinson, then scored a career-high 29 points on
12-of-15 shooting at McDaniel. Hargrove also broke his own school
record for blocked shots in a season.
Women's
Caitlin Kriesel-Bigler
Kriesel-Bigler led Hendrix with 24.0 points, 5.0 assists and 2.0
steals per game as the Warriors won back-to-back games for the
first time this season. Against Oglethorpe she tied the school
record with eight 3-pointers made, en route to a season-high 29
points. She also dished out five assists and had three steals.
Kriesel-Bigler followed up with 19 points, five assists and a steal
in a win against Berry. On the weekend, she shot 42.5 percent
(17-of-40) from the field, 47.8 percent (11-of-23) from 3-point
range and 3-for-3 from the free throw line.
Breanna Madrazo
Madrazo scored back-to-back career highs (20 at Chicago, 21 at
Wash U) as Rochester swept the midwest UAA trip for the first time
in school history. When Washington closed to within 15 with less
than 3 minutes to play, she drilled a 3-pointer, then made five of
five free throws to nail down the win. The sweep kept Rochester
tied for first place in the UAA race and was also the first time
the Yellowjackets swept Washington (56-48 in the Palestra in
January). She shot 6-for-9 from 3-point range for the week.
Kelecia Harris
Harris averaged 26 points, 18.5 rebounds and five blocks per game
as Albright won twice to move into a tie for the final MAC
Commonwealth playoff spot. She totaled 26 points and 20 rebounds in
a win over Hood and just missed a triple-double with 26 points, 17
rebounds and eight blocks as Albright beat Stevenson.
Sarah Collins
Collins led Babson to its fifth straight regular season NEWMAC
title, averaging 24.5 points, 18.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, and 2.0
steals while shooting 56.3 percent (18-for-32) from the field and
76.5 percent (13-for-17) from the line. Against MIT, she scored a
season-high 27 points, matched her career-high with 22 rebounds,
and blocked five shots in a 54-39 win. She added 22 points, 15
boards, three blocks, and two steals in a 73-52 win over Smith.
Carissa Verkaik
Verkaik led Calvin to three wins last week and nearly notched a
triple-double in a win against Olivet with 32 points, eight
rebounds and eight blocked shots. She averaged 23.7 points, 8.7
rebounds and 4.0 blocked shots in a 3-0 week.
