The Team of the Week was in its eighth season in 2004-05, recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week.

Men's

J.D. Byers
Byers averaged 28.5 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for Lebanon Valley. He scored a game-high 30 points in a 68-59 win over Delaware Valley while shooting 9-for-18 from the field. In an 80-76 overtime win at No. 5 Franklin & Marshall, Byers posted game-highs of 27 points and seven assists to go with seven rebounds. With the game tied at 76, Byers hit four straight free throws in the final 14 seconds of overtime for the upset win.

Derick Grant
The Lions were paced by the scoring touch provided by Grant in three road victories for the Lions. The senior averaged just more than 26 points and 6 rebounds, including 31 against Wesley in a 24-point victory. In that contest, Grant nailed 6 of 11 from beyond the arc.

Santo Provenzano
Hood played just one game this past week, but Provenzano made the most of it. The sophomore guard-forward scored 44 points in Hood's 87-78 loss to Bethany on 17-for-20 shooting from the floor. The mark is a new program record, breaking the previous school record of 34 he initially set last year against Bethany. Provenzano is now averaging 29.4 points per game and has not scored less than 23 points in a game yet this season.

John Smith
Smith led the Dolphins to a 3-0 week, improving to 6-2 on the season, with a hot shooting hand and strong play on the boards. The senior averaged 23 points and 18 rebounds in the wins over Lehman, Brooklyn, and New Jersey City.

Nick Kane
It was a busy week in numerous categories for Kane. The junior had a school record eight blocked shots in a tough 104-97 loss at Tri-State before tallying 14 rebounds in a win against Indiana-Northwest and then hitting on 10 of 11 field goals over Alma. For the week, Kane averaged 22 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 6.6 blocks per game.

Women's

Mandy Pearson
Mandy Pearson became the first player in Concordia-Moorhead women's basketball history to record 1,000 points and 500 assists as she scored 25 points and added eight assists in the Cobbers' 77-76, overtime win at St. Mary's (Minn.). The victory was part of a weekend, road sweep for Concordia. On Saturday, Pearson scored 16 points and added another eight assists in the Cobbers' 75-54 win at St. Olaf. For the week, Pearson averaged 20.5 points and 8.0 assists. She also collected seven total rebounds and six steals.

Chireese Paradise
Paradise, just a freshman, averaged better than 22 points, six rebounds, six steals, and five rebounds in a 3-0 week for the Bearcats. After some easier wins over John Jay and CCNY, Paradise nailed two free throws with seven seconds remaining to defeat Kean, 77-76.

Oneisha Staples
Staples led the Knights in their 2-1 week, including an upset win over Union and a narrow five-point defeat at New York University. A senior, Staples drained a three-pointer in the final 30 seconds that brought the Blue Knights to within three points as they attempted to pull off the road upset — in a game that neither team led by more than six points throughout. For the week, Staples had a tremendous stat line while averaging 20.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals.

Kristen Lucek
Lucek led the Sharks with 23 points and nine rebounds per game in wins over Roger Williams and Anna Maria. Interestingly enough, her highest output of the week, 29 points against Bates, was the only loss of the week.

Jennifer Northcott
Northcott posted 14.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game in a 2-1 week for Lebanon Valley. In a 76-73 win at Delaware Valley, she had 21 points, 18 rebounds, and four blocks while shooting 8-for-10 from the floor. She followed up with another double-double, recording 10 points and 12 rebounds in a 58-52 loss to No. 24 McDaniel. Northcott finished the week with a 10-point, nine-rebound effort in a 57-45 win at Neumann.
