The Team of the Week was in its fifth season in 2001-02, recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week.

Men's

Willie Chandler
Chandler averaged 30.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 1.3 assists in a 3-0 week for Misericordia.

Steve King
King led the Griffins to a 2-0 week and a share of the SLIAC lead. Against Maryville (Mo.), Steve tied a school-record with 47 points, including 10-for-14 from 3-point range, and followed that with 20 points and 10 assists in a 114-109 win against Greenville.

Kyle Reagan
Reagan, whose previous career-high was 11 points, exploded for 27 points on 13-for-17 shooting at Oneonta State in just 18 minutes. He also corralled a season-high five rebounds. The rookie followed that performance with 14 points, three rebounds and two blocked shots at New York City Technical, while seeing just 16 minutes of playing time.

Zareh Avedian
The sophomore has led the Kingsmen to a 14-3 overall record and 6-0 SCIAC start. Against LaVerne, Avedian was the leading scorer with 30 points (11-for-20 from the floor), 10 rebounds, two assists and three blocks. At Redlands he added 34 points (22 in first half on 8-for-8 shooting, 3-for-3 on 3-pointers) grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out two assists.

Jeff Gibbs
Gibbs helped lead ninth-ranked Otterbein to a pair of OAC wins and sole possession of first place in the conference. He scored a career-high 34 points on 13-for-16 shooting along with 20 rebounds at Baldwin-Wallace and notched his 18th double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds in home win over Mount Union.

Women's

Rachael Poland
Poland scored her 1,700th career point Saturday and moved into second place on The 'Berg all-time scoring list. She had 29 points and 10 rebounds against Marietta for her first double-double of the season, following her 25 points and nine rebounds against John Carroll. She has hit her last 19 free throws and shot 18-for-34 from the floor for the week.

Laura Hebel
Hebel was the Maroons' high scorer in both games as Chicago swept a pair of UAA contests. In a 54-53 win against Carnegie Mellon, Hebel scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds. She then tallied 16 points, including the go-ahead basket in the game's final three minutes as Chicago edged Rochester 51-47. She shot 10-for-24 from the floor and 7-for-17 from 3-point range for the week, averaging 5.0 rebounds.

Jen Agosto
The sophomore sharpshooter continued her torrid season by leading the team to wins against Mt. St. Mary, York (N.Y.), and Brooklyn. She averaged 16.7 points per game while shooting .514 (19-for-37) from the field and a stellar 60 percent (12-for-20) from 3-point range. Agosto scored a career-high 27 points against York and tied the school record with seven 3-pointers in that contest. She leads Hunter with 56 3-pointers, an average of 3.1 per game.

Kelley Richardson
Richardson averaged 17 points and 12.5 rebounds as Bethany went 2-0 to improve its winning streak to eight games and its record to 15-3 on the year. With 26 points and 16 rebounds at Thiel on Saturday, she recorded her 12th double-double of the year.

Shondelle Browne
Browne averaged 19.7 points and 15.3 rebounds while shooting 61.5 percent in three games as NJCU extended its win streak to four. Browne scored 18 points and tied her career-high with 19 rebounds while shooting 6-for-13 in a win against Stevens Tech. Browne bettered that effort as the Gothic Knights shook up the NJAC with a 67-61 stunner over Ramapo, in which Browne scored a season-high 22 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and shot 9-for-11 (81.8 percent). Finally, NJCU finished a season sweep of William Paterson behind Browne's 19 points and 14 rebounds.
