February 13, 2026 Men’s Basketball Drops 66-64 Road Contest to Buffalo State in Tight SUNYAC Battle BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's basketball team looked to extend its momentum with a second straight win in game three of a four-game road stretch. Holding the series edge over the Bengals, the Cardinals sought a season sweep but came up short, falling 66-64 to Buffalo State in a tightly contested State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) matchup on Friday night at Sports Arena. Senior forward Khalil Screen (Providence, R.I. / Classical) paced the Cardinals with a double-double, netting a game-high 16 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and adding a game-high two blocks.

February 7, 2026 Welch’s Game-Winner and Record-Breaking Performance Lead Men’s Basketball Past Morrisville 100-98 MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State men's basketball team looked to bounce back in its second meeting with the Mustangs this season after a loss to Cortland the previous night. With under a minute remaining, the Cardinals trailed 98-95 and had just four players on the court. Senior guard Reem Welch (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Thomas Jefferson) led a 5-0 surge, finishing it with the game-winning layup to give Plattsburgh a 100-98 victory over Morrisville in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action on Saturday evening at STUAC Gymnasium. Welch recorded a career-high 49 points, setting a new single-game program scoring record, while adding seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
