PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - The Plattsburgh State men's basketball team defeated the visiting Knights of Geneseo on Saturday evening by a score of 84-73, taking home a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) win in the process. The Cards shot the ball well from the field (52.5%) and poured in 11 three-pointers, shooting at a 40.7% clip from deep.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The Plattsburgh State men's basketball picked up a win over Skidmore on Tuesday night in non-conference action, as they have now posted back-to-back road wins. The team has now surpassed their win total from last season with their third victory of the season.
Kevin Tabb (Brooklyn, N.Y./Thomas Jefferson) was once again the team's leading scorer, dropping a new season-high 25 points, going a perfect 11-11 from the line. Willard Anderson Jr. (Buffalo, N.Y./East) had a strong game off the bench, posting a season-high 20 points, shooting an efficient 7-10 from the floor and 4-6 from three. Erik Salo (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) had just six points but made his impact felt with 14 boards. Tautvydas Kupstas had a game-high 27 points for Skidmore while Riley Greene had 20 points in the loss.
Plattsburgh dominated the boards, picking up 47 rebounds to Skidmore's 38, as the Cards shot 45.6% from the floor. Both teams were sparkling from the charity stripe as Plattsburgh was 19-20 and Skidmore was 19-21. The Cardinal bench was the key to the win, with 33 points off the bench, while Skidmore had just four points from their bench players.
PLATTSBURGH, NY - Coming as close as five points under the five-minute mark, the Plattsburgh State men's basketball team ultimately fell to St. Lawrence 77-65 in non-conference action. Despite trailing by as much as 18 in the half, the Cards fought back and made the game a two-possession contest on several occasions, but could not overcome the Saints.
Kevin Tabb (Brooklyn, NY/Thomas Jefferson) had a great shooting night for Plattsburgh, working around foul trouble to score 22 points on 8-12 shooting from the floor and 6-8 from deep. Myles Jones (Alexandria, VA/Blue Ridge School) knocked down two threes en route to 13 points and Sheriff Conteh (Bronx, NY/Our Saviour Lutheran) had his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds, also adding three steals. For St. Lawrence, Trey Syroka led the way with 19 points on 7-11 shooting from the field, adding three steals to his line.

Kevin Tabb (Brooklyn, NY/Thomas Jefferson) poured in 19 points off the bench in just 23 minutes, hitting two huge threes down the stretch to help give the Cardinals their first season-opening win of head coach Mike Blaine's tenure.

Tuesday night was a good night for the Ducks (Stevens), Cardinals (Plattsburgh State), Eagles (Eastern) and Falcons (Messiah). Meanwhile UW-Stevens Point beat St. Olaf in a defensive struggle.
