February 15, 2025 Women’s Basketball Clinches SUNYAC Playoff Berth for the First Time Since 2015, Drops Road SUNYAC Contest to Canton CANTON, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's basketball team clinched a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) playoff berth for the first time since 2015 on Saturday evening despite falling to Canton 58-46 in road SUNYAC action. After Plattsburgh cut Canton's lead to as low as three, the Kangaroos outscored the Cardinals 11-2 for the rest of the quarter as Plattsburgh ultimately fell 58-46. Senior guard/forward Payton Couture (Redford, N.Y. / Saranac) led all scorers with 21 points to go with a career-high 15 rebounds and three assists as she recorded her sixth double-double of the season.
February 14, 2025 Women’s Basketball Falls Short on the Road Against Oswego State OSWEGO, N.Y. – After trailing by as much as 17 points the Plattsburgh State women's basketball team came within five points with less than a minute remaining but ultimately fell short 67-55 in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action after the Lakers ended the fourth quarter on a 7-0 run. Junior center Imani Walcott (Albany, N.Y. / Albany) led the Cardinals in scoring with 12 points to go with a team-high 12 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season.
February 8, 2025 Huge Third Quarter Propels Women’s Basketball to 62-55 Win Over Oneonta ONEONTA, N.Y. – With both teams tied at 20 at halftime, a huge third quarter in which the Cardinals outscored the Red Dragons 26-7 propelled the Plattsburgh State women's basketball team to a 62-55 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) win over Oneonta earning the season sweep. Junior guard Jaden Wilson (Johnstown, N.Y. / Johnstown) led all scorers with 21 points to pair with six rebounds and an assist.
February 7, 2025 Women’s Basketball Drops SUNYAC Road Contest to New Paltz NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – Despite a rally midway through the fourth quarter that brought the Cardinals within three, the Plattsburgh State women's basketball team dropped a road State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) contest to New Paltz 57-50 on Friday night. Sophomore guard Selma Deisz (Bekkestua, Norway / Nadderud VGS) paced the Cardinal offense with 12 points to go with three steals.
February 1, 2025 Women’s Basketball Pulls Away Late For a 65-53 SUNYAC Win Over Morrisville PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – After trailing by one point going into the fourth quarter, the Plattsburgh State women's basketball team used a 12-0 tear to pull away late and win 65-53 over Morrisville in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action. Sophomore guard Julia Greek (Long Island, N.Y. / Ward Melville) led all players in points with 18 to go with five rebounds and three assists.
January 31, 2025 Women’s Basketball Falls to Cortland at Home in SUNYAC Action PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – After two strong quarters of play from Cortland, the Plattsburgh State women's basketball team trailed by double digits at halftime and weren't able to come back and fell 86-47 to Cortland at home in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action. Junior center Imani Walcott (Albany, N.Y. / Albany) led the Cardinals in points with 14 to go with five rebounds.
