On the women's side Illinois Wesleyan tripped No. 18 Chicago and Southern Virginia got a big game from a different name in its opener.

February 24, 2018 Titans Clinch CCIW Crown and AQ with 62-60 Victory Over Wheaton BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The No. 16-ranked Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team earned the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's automatic qualifier on Saturday, Feb. 24 with a 62-60 victory over Wheaton in the CCIW tournament championship game. Senior Rebekah Ehresman led the Titans with 14 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. The league's "Most Outstanding Player" scored eight of her 14 points in the fourth quarter.
