Men's
Benny West
A frequent member of the Team of the Week, West continues to impress. For the week West averaged 41.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 6.5 steals, 3.5 assists and 2 blocks per game. West shot 68 percent from the floor, 55 percent from the 3-point line and 100 percent from the stripe.
Ben Van Thorre
Van Thorre averaged 25.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists while shooting 57% from the field and committing just one turnover in wins last week over Augsburg and Concordia-Moorhead. His 31 points against the Cobbers brings his career total to 1,538, just three short of setting a new school record.
Sam Porter
Porter recorded three double-doubles, all on the road, while playing 120 minutes of basketball. Needless to say, Porter was a bit tired at the end of the week. Two of the performances led to wins for the Monarchs, a 19-point, 12-rebound effort at North Carolina Wesleyan and a 12-point, 10-rebound mark at Christopher Newport. Ironically, Porter’s best performance, 22 points and 13 rebounds at Shenandoah, was the lone loss on the week.
Scott Mahan
Mahan had an impressive three-game week, averaging 19.3 points while shooting 26-of-39 from the field in addition to totaling 11.7 rebounds, 2.7 blocks, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals. He was one rebound shy of collecting three double-doubles.
Steve Juskin
Juskin averaged 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 3.5 blocks in wins over Johns Hopkins and Swarthmore. He had 23 points, nine assists and six blocks against the Blue Jays, while registering 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting vs. the Garnet. For the week, Juskin shot 65.2 percent from the floor.
Women's
Diana Esterkamp
Esterkamp was two rebounds short of averaging a triple-double in two games for the Cardinals last week. She notched 20 points, 10.5 assists, and 9.0 rebounds in wins over Heidelberg and John Carroll. The senior became the first in school history to score 1,000 points and dish 500 assists in a career.
Sarah Caskey
Caskey averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.5 steals for the Britons in their wins over Alma and Saint Mary’s (Ind.). She shot better than 50% from beyond the arc.
Mary Kate Lenz
Lenz averaged 22.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals in leading the Seahawks to a 1-1 record this past week. Lenz connected on 62.9 percent of her field goal attempts.
Lisa Winkle
In two games, Winkle paced the Knights with 22 points, 14 boards, 4.5 blocks, and 1.5 steals in a 1-1 week. Winkle missed only two of her 16 foul shots.
Amber Hallman
Hallman had 22 points, eight rebounds and three blocks on 10-of-17 shooting from the floor in a win over Methodist. She then added a career high 25 points and added 12 rebounds, seven assists and six steals in the Lady Captains' win over Greensboro.
