Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools, who were contacted three times as the season wound down to make their players eligible. The ballot was then distributed to regional SIDs, who voted for ten players, from 10 points to 1 point. Regional coordinators then tallied the votes into three teams. Any players who didn't make the first three teams because of their position, yet had enough votes to be on the team, are listed as honorable mention. Those players are also considered All-Region players.
