    ALLENTOWN, N.J. (Nov. 22, 2015) – The Rutgers University-Camden women’s basketball team went on a 14-2 run to open the game and led by 16 points by the end of the first quarter on its way to a 65-34 victory over Cedar Crest College in a non-conference game here Sunday afternoon. Rutgers-Camden improves to 2-0, while Cedar Crest falls to 0-6. The Scarlet Raptors never trailed in the game as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead and went on a 10-point run after the Falcons cut the gap to 4-2. Sophomore guard/forward Cara Racobaldo (Pennsauken, NJ/Camden Catholic) collected six points in that run. By the end of the first quarter, the Raptors owned a 22-6 lead, with six points apiece coming from Racobaldo, sophomore center Michelle Obasi (Camden, NJ/Camden Catholic) and senior guard Kamari Talley (Camden, NJ/Creative Arts). Rutgers-Camden led by as many as 22 points (34-12 and 36-14) in the opening half on its way to a 36-16 advantage at the break. Talley had eight points at halftime, while Obasi, Racobaldo and freshman guard Gabby Greene (Howell, NJ/Howell) all owned six. For the Falcons, freshman guard Tenille Stewart (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) had six halftime points. The Scarlet Raptors led by as many as 36 points (57-21) in the second half. Talley finished with 16 points, while Racobaldo notched 13 and Obasi added 12. Racobaldo also added game-high totals of six assists and four steals, while chipping in with six rebounds. Greene added five assists, three steals and six points. Junior forward Caroline Santiago (Vineland, NJ/Buena Regional) paced the Scarlet Raptors with seven rebounds. She added two points and two assists. Stewart led Cedar Crest with 11 points, while sophomore forward/center Shemeca Thompson ( Bridgeport, CT/Warren Harding) had a game-high 10 rebounds. Rutgers-Camden shot 31-for-60 (51.7 percent) from the floor, while holding Cedar Crest to 11-for-38 (28.9) shooting. The Scarlet Raptors held a 26-23 edge off the boards. Rutgers-Camden will open up its New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule on Tuesday with a 6 p.m. game at The College of New Jersey.
