Northwestern hands SJU another first-round loss
March 01, 2019The Johnnies came in at No. 8 in the final D3hoops Top 25 poll, entered the matchup as the nation's leader in rebounding margin and shooting percentage. The Eagles outrebounded and outshot the Johnnies to roll to a 93-78 first-round upset, marking the second consecutive year that the UMAC champ has won at St. John's in the tournament.

Tim Grosz Picks Up 300th Career Win at UNW
January 18, 2016Already the winningest head coach in program history, University of Northwestern head men's basketball coach Tim Groszreached another milestone Saturday, as the 47-year-old tallied win No. 300 (At Northwestern) with the Eagles' 87-78 triumph over the University of Wisconsin-Superior (7-9, 4-4) inside the Ericksen Center. Northwestern improved to 13-3 overall on the year and 6-2 in loop play.

Northwestern shocks Tommies; UWW ousted
March 06, 2015The craziest year in recent Division III men's basketball history put up an opening round of the NCAA Tournament to match, as Northwestern got its first NCAA Tournament win with a dagger at the buzzer vs. No. 3 St. Thomas, Defiance dominated the final 10 minutes to knock out the defending champ and No. 5 St. Norbert went down in 3 OT.

Northwestern (Minn.) ends regular season on five-game win streak
February 16, 2013DULUTH, Minn. – Already the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) outright regular season champion after a win against Northland College on Friday night, the Northwestern College (Minn.) men's basketball team stayed the course to finish the regular season with an 84-66 victory over the College of St. Scholastica on Saturday afternoon. Lance Westberg (River Falls, Wis./River Falls) scored more than 20 points for the second straight game and the Eagles went 13-24 from the behind the three-point line to help NWC notch its 19th win of the season.

81-52 win over Northland gives NWC 24th UMAC Reg. Season Championship
February 15, 2013ASHLAND, Wis. – The Northwestern College (Minn.) men's basketball team used a better-than-50 percent mark from the field to defeat Northland College 81-52 to win the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) regular season championship outright on Friday night. The victory, which improves the Eagles to an 18-6 overall record for the 2012-2013 season (11-2 UMAC), gives NWC the No. 1 seed in next week's conference tournament.
