New York University started the Division III women’s basketball season with a star-studded roster that seemed destined for a national title, and the Violets finished the season that way, too. Led by its three All-Americans, NYU defeated Smith, 61-51, and competed a perfect run to the 2024 national championship.
Transylvania’s title defense came to an end thanks to the stellar defense of New York University, as the Violets shut down the Pioneers, 57-42, in the NCAA Tournament semifinals on Thursday night.
