    Despite a solid start and a two-point halftime lead, We Are D3 fell to Team Challenge ALS 67-60 in the first round of The Basketball Tournament. All-American guards Eric Demers and DaQuan Brooks combined for 42 points.

Sam Johnson (Chatham, Mass.) captured his 11th double double of the season to lead the way for the Fighting Scots.

    BIDDEFORD, Maine—Gordon Men’s Basketball ran its Commonwealth Coast Conference streak to two wins with a 74-62 result at the University of New England on Wednesday night at the Alfond Center. The Nor’easters erased a 16-point Gordon lead in the second half, but the Fighting Scots were the better team in the final quarter of regulation to pull off the all-important conference road victory.

    WORCESTER, Mass.—Gordon continued its second-half surges to win its fourth consecutive game, 77-61 over host Worcester State. The Fighting Scots got another 20-point performance from sophomore Garrisson Duvivier (Brockton, Mass.) and Gordon avoided a lull in the first half to improve to 6-2 on the season. Worcester State remained winless at 0-8.

    WENHAM, Mass.—Sophomore Garrisson Duvivier (Brockton, Mass.) lit up the box score over the final 25 minutes of play as Gordon was able to stave off Eastern Nazarene 85-82 in overtime. The Fighting Scots controlled the glass on both ends of the floor for much of the night, but the Lions rode the hot hand of Josh Rice (Hanson, Mass.) in the second half to force overtime. Gordon did just enough in extra time to improve to 2-1 at the Bennett Center this season.

    WENHAM, Mass.—Nichols Men's Basketball scored seven points in the final 20 seconds to overcome the host Gordon Fighting Scots, 95-91, at the Bennett Center on Tuesday evening. Gordon trailed at halftime, but surged to take a large lead in the second half only to commit a few costly mistakes in the waning seconds. The Bison found enough magic at the end to win its 13th consecutive game in the Commonwealth Coast Conference.

    WENHAM, Mass.—Freshmen guards Jaren Yang (San Francisco, Calif.) and Dylan Marshall (Purcellville, Va.) finished as the top two scorers, combining for 27 points in a 59-51 home win over visiting University of New England. The Nor’easters Devin Thompson (Winthrop, Mass.) led all scorers with 20 points, but the timely shooting by Marshall in the second half allowed Gordon to pull away late for the eight-point victory on Wednesday night at the Bennett Center.

    WENHAM, Mass.—Taylor Bajema (Whitinsville, Mass.) tied a career-high with 19 points, but the Fighting Scots couldn’t overcome a slow start against the 16th-ranked MIT Engineers in the season opener for both teams. MIT’s Ryan Frankel (New York, N.Y.) and Justin Pedley (Kennewick, Wash.) dominated the second half of play for the Engineers, combining for 23 points in the final period to secure a 64-51 win over the Scots at the Bennett Center on Tuesday night.
