Wednesday was a good night to be a ranked team on the road. The Hope men and Lebanon Valley women won road games at the second place teams in their respective conferences.

No. 2 Hope made a strong case to be the new No. 1 team in the country by rolling over Adrian 64-47. The Flying Dutchmen led by as many as 22 points against the second place team in the MIAA standings. David Krombeen went 4-for-4 from three en route to scoring 20 points.

No. 4 UW-Whitewater opened the second half at UW-La Crosse with a 16-2 run and held off the Eagles, 72-62. Chris Davis' double-double (27 points, 12 rebounds) paced the Warhawks to their 10th win in the WIAC and 19th overall. No. 13 UW-Stevens Point kept pace with a 70-54 win at home against UW-Platteville.

No. 8 Franklin and Marshall held Ursinus scoreless for an eight minute stretch in the second half, long enough to turn a nine-point deficit into a six-point lead. The Diplomats won 63-54.

Outside the Top 25, Wabash and Albright also picked up key road wins. The Little Giants beat archrival DePauw 65-63. Michael Wilkison hit a three-pointer with eight seconds left to draw the Tigers within three and got a look at a potential game winner, but was off the mark. Albright rode Derek Hall's 30 points to a decisive 92-77 win at Lycoming.

St. Joseph's (L.I.) topped Farmingdale State 75-70 in a battle of the top two teams in the Skyline Conference. Gustavus Adolphus edged St. Olaf 64-63 to take sole possession of first place in the MIAC. St. John's upended St. Thomas 61-56 at Schoenecker Arena for the Johnnies' first season sweep of the Tommies since 1993-94. A game after Nathan Bollinger scored 50 points for Delaware Valley, the Aggies couldn't reach that mark as a team in a 75-47 loss to DeSales.

Lebanon Valley snapped Messiah's 11-game winning streak and seized control of the MAC Commonwealth by beating the Falcons on their own floor, 56-52. The Flying Dutchmen swept the season series and clinched a conference tournament bid. No. 4 Calvin won comfortably at Alma 79-49. The Knights are the fourth Division III women's team to reach 20 wins this season, and No. 9 William Paterson is the fifth after beating Montclair State, 58-53.

Outside the Top 25, Simpson pummeled Coe 93-66 to pull within a game of the Kohawks and Wartburg in the IIAC race. The Knights defeated Cornell 69-63.

Millikin cooled off Wheaton (Ill.) 71-61 in a critical game for the Big Blue's postseason hopes. Millikin is a game behind the Thunder for the fourth and final CCIW playoff slot.

St. Mary's (Ind.) put a serious dent in Albion's hopes to finish the regular season tied for second in the MIAA. The Belles rung up the Britons on the road 70-62 and dropped them to 13-7, 8-4 in conference.

Lizzy Sunderhaus may not have many games left at Cedar Crest, but she's going out in style. Last year's Jostens Trophy winner tallied 36 points, 25 rebounds and seven blocks as the Falcons topped Centenary (N.J.) 79-75.

The No. 15 St. Thomas women returned the favor, handing St. John's sister school, St. Benedict, a 73-52 loss and sweeping the season series from the Blazers for the first time since 1999-2000. No. 23 Centre won its 15th consecutive game, defeating Spalding 66-54.
