Senior Aaron Barmore had a game-high 22 points and seven rebounds, including 7-of-7 shooting, as the visiting Johnnies (12-7 overall, 8-6 MIAC) pulled away late to post a 61-56 win over the host Tommies (14-6, 11-4) in MIAC men's basketball Wednesday night before a near capacity crowd of 1,650 at Schoenecker Arena.

St. John's swept the regular-season series from UST for the first time since 1993-94 and won on the Tommies' campus for the first time since the 2003-04 season.

Junior John Nance scored 20 points for the Tommies, who made just 14-of-22 at the foul line.

Seth Marx's 3-point basket with 5:08 left started an 8-0 run and erased a 47-46 Tommie lead. UST never got closer than four points in the final 4:00.

The Tommies dropped into second place in the MIAC standings as first-place Gustavus (12-3) won 64-63 at home over third-place St. Olaf.

St. Thomas plays Saturday at Augsburg.
