January 31, 2015 Gaines' buzzer beater lifts Lions over Maryville, 63-61 Demorest, GA - With 2.8 seconds on the clock, trailing by a single point, the Piedmont College men's basketball faithful held their breath inside Cave Arena and the collective exhale came upon the celebration when Trae Gaines banked a 40' jumper to steal a 63-61 victory against Maryville College. Gaines' shot sent the Cave Crazies into chaos and gave the Lions their seventh victory at home this season.

December 13, 2014 Late Rally Comes Up Short for Lions in 82-79 Road Loss to Berry College Mt. Berry, GA - The Piedmont College men's basketball team got a double-double from newcomer JUSTIN VALLEJO, but it was not enough to upend the Vikings of Berry College who claimed an 82-79 decision earlier today over the Lions. Visiting the Mount Berry-based campus, Piedmont had a chance to take the lead on a pair of free throws with just seconds remaining, but a miss and a lane violation on the second sank the squad's hopes of a miracle rally after trailing by six with a minute to play.
