January 3, 2023 ETBU Dominates #18 UC Santa Cruz BELTON, Texas – Bringing in the New Year handling #18 University of California Santa Cruz, East Texas Baptist University produced a fourth quarter that the Banana Slugs couldn’t overcome as the Tigers dominated, 75-51. ETBU allowed just six points in the fourth quarter scoring 23 as they moved to 10-2 on the year.
December 10, 2022 Saturday: Tigers, Bulldogs bite back East Texas Baptist held off No. 10 Mary Hardin-Baylor while No. 16 DeSales did it with defense against Misericordia. Plus, No. 8 Baldwin Wallace improved to 8-0 with a come-from-behind win at Marietta and Loras dropped No. 9 UW-Eau Claire. Read about it here.
December 10, 2022 ETBU Shocks #10 UMHB, 66-59 MARSHALL, Texas – A stifling defense in the third quarter led East Texas Baptist University to an upset win over #10 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in American Southwest Conference women’s basketball, 66-59. ETBU allowed just six points in that quarter and built a lead up to 19 points in the game. ETBU is now 7-2 and 3-1 in the ASC.
February 19, 2022 Saturday women: Still the one No. 17 Scranton and Ithaca continued their run of conference titles while No. 1 Christopher Newport pulled away from Salisbury in its regular season finale.
