BELTON, Texas – Bringing in the New Year handling #18 University of California Santa Cruz, East Texas Baptist University produced a fourth quarter that the Banana Slugs couldn’t overcome as the Tigers dominated, 75-51. ETBU allowed just six points in the fourth quarter scoring 23 as they moved to 10-2 on the year.
East Texas Baptist held off No. 10 Mary Hardin-Baylor while No. 16 DeSales did it with defense against Misericordia. Plus, No. 8 Baldwin Wallace improved to 8-0 with a come-from-behind win at Marietta and Loras dropped No. 9 UW-Eau Claire. Read about it here.
MARSHALL, Texas – A stifling defense in the third quarter led East Texas Baptist University to an upset win over #10 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in American Southwest Conference women’s basketball, 66-59. ETBU allowed just six points in that quarter and built a lead up to 19 points in the game. ETBU is now 7-2 and 3-1 in the ASC.
No. 17 Scranton and Ithaca continued their run of conference titles while No. 1 Christopher Newport pulled away from Salisbury in its regular season finale. Mary-Hardin Baylor and Messiah will still be the one-seed in their playoffs, but they'll enter them on a down note. Read about it here.

The Tigers are on a three-game winning streak posting a 9-1 overall record and are 3-1 in American Southwest Conference East Division play.
MARSHALL, Texas – Holding the Sul Ross State University to 28% shooting throughout the game, the #12/14 East Texas Baptist University women's basketball team used three 20+ point quarters on their way to an 82-54 victory over the Lobos inside Ornelas Gym. This win puts ETBU at 8-1 overall and 2-1 in the American Southwest Conference East Division.
ETBU had four players reach double-digits with the leading scorer coming from Kendrick Clark, who posted 13 points while Valerie Matlock, Amanda Wilson, and Kayla Bise each scored 12 points. Anna Moss collected a team-high seven rebounds while Sydney Saxton dished out three assists. SRSU posted the two highest scorers in the game with Makayla Hamilton scoring 20 points while Chandre Nunez had 16.
MARSHALL, Texas – In a game that would celebrate a historic season and symbolize their American Southwest Conference Championship run from 2017-18, the East Texas Baptist University women's basketball team cruised past the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs, 71-52, on their first victory at Ornelas Gymnasium improving to 3-0 on the season. ETBU jumped out to a 10-1 lead in the first four minutes of the game and never looked back.
KERRVILLE, Texas – Using an attacking offense and stifling defense, the East Texas Baptist University women's basketball team prevailed 86-43 over Schreiner University. With eight players scoring at least six points in the win, ETBU improves to 2-0 on the young season and drops SU to 0-1 in their first game of the year.
ABILENE, Texas – Dominating the tempo of the game with a fast-paced offense from start to finish, the East Texas Baptist University women's basketball team started the 2018-19 campaign on the right note with an 86-52 win over the McMurry University War Hawks at Kimbrell Arena. This is the most points ETBU has scored in a single game in the Rusty Rainbolt era as ETBU is 1-0.

MARSHALL, Texas – It took an extra five minutes to finish, but the East Texas Baptist University women’s basketball team continues their magical run as they stunned #6 University of St. Thomas (Minn.), 61-58 in overtime. ETBU is heading to their first Elite Eight in program history and now have a 25-6 record winning their last six games.
In addition to TCNJ, UW-Whitewater, Texas-Dallas, Illinois Wesleyan and Randolph-Macon bit the dust, while St. Thomas survived a tough battle and Amherst found the second round a little bit tougher than the first.
RICHARDSON, Texas - After a tightly fought first quarter, the East Texas Baptist women's basketball suddenly caught fire for the rest of the game as they would upset the University of Texas Dallas Comets for the second time in two weeks winning 64-51 in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Tigers will continue to dance as they will advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history and are now 24-6 on the year.
