MARSHALL, Texas – Leading from start to finish over #24 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, East Texas Baptist University shocked the Crusaders, 72-64, to stay perfect in the American Southwest Conference. ETBU is now 7-1 on the year and 4-0 in the ASC. It is the second time in a year that ETBU has upset nationally ranked UMHB winning last year in Marshall, 81-72, when the Cru was ranked 17th.
MARSHALL, Texas – Coming from behind again this season posting a 26-6 run midway through the second half, the East Texas Baptist University men's basketball team erased 15-point first-half deficit over the University of Texas Dallas to stay undefeated in the American Southwest Conference East Division, 83-74. MARSHALL, Texas – A second half surge by the East Texas Baptist University offense of 57 points put them past Hardin-Simmons University, 90-75, in their American Southwest Conference opener. With the win, ETBU moves their home winning streak to 24 games dating back to the 2013-14 season.
MARSHALL, Texas – Playing in its home opener, the East Texas Baptist University men’s basketball team shot a season-high 51.7 percent from the floor en route to a 105-91 victory over McMurry (Texas) University. The win advances ETBU’s record to 4-1, and moves their win streak at home to 23 games.
All four host schools advance, while we'll have a rematch of the ODAC final in the Elite Eight. Northwestern's run came to an end, while Trinity pulled past Bates and Babson survived a last-second shot attempt.

MARSHALL, Texas—In their first NCAA Tournament game, the East Texas Baptist University men’s basketball team put on quite a show as they defeated Hendrix 79-59 on their home court. After leading by only five at half, ETBU broke out with a 44 point second half en route to their 21st straight win at home and improve to 24-5 overall
Dylan Augustine led ETBU with 19 points and made two three pointers. He was joined in double figures by Junior Mitchell with 11 and Ahnre Gray with 10. Justin Felicia led the team with 12 rebounds. Luke Vance score 25 to lead Hendrix and tied for the team lead with three rebounds.
MARSHALL, Texas—History happened on Saturday night as East Texas Baptist University won their 20th straight game in Ornelas Gym clinching their first-ever American Southwest Conference Tournament Championship, 82-71, over Concordia University-Texas. ETBU now receives their first-ever automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament and has won 13 of their last 14 games with 23 wins overall.
MARSHALL, Texas—After Ornelas Gym was so loud the entire game the final six seconds were the quietest before an eruption as Howard Payne University’s (15-12) last second three-point attempt fell short as East Texas Baptist University advances to their first-ever championship game, 75-73. HPU was down nine with 1:16 remaining before storming back to get within two with nine seconds to play before missing their potential game winning three-pointer.
MARSHALL, Texas—Top seeded East Texas Baptist University put together a strong second half advancing to their second-ever semi-final game in program history with a 67-52 win over the University of the Ozarks in the American Southwest Conference tournament. PINEVILLE, La. – Starting off strong in the first half and taking an eight point lead, 18-6, East Texas Baptist University (9-15/5-12) let a Louisiana College run swing momentum to the Wildcats as they fell in American Southwest Conference East Division play, 84-75. Louisiana College went on a 21-7 run over seven and half minutes in the first half to take a 29-23 lead that led to the victory.
MARSHALL, Texas – Shooting in the second half was the difference for East Texas Baptist University (9-12/5-10) as the University of Texas-Dallas barely walked away from Ornelas Gym with the victory, 75-69. ETBU’s hot hand of 61 percent shooting in the first half for one-point lead at the half slipped to 35 percent in the second half as Texas-Dallas found the bucket enough times to slip by the Tigers. UTD remains in first place in the American Southwest Conference East Division as ETBU’s hopes for the post-season are slowly fading away.
MARSHALL, Texas – A close game turned into a blowout in the final eight minutes of the game as East Texas Baptist University went on a 25-5 run to take the American Southwest Conference East Division game, 97-78, over the University of the Ozarks (6-14/3-11). The win is the second in a row for ETBU as they improve to 9-11 and 5-9 in the ASC East keeping their post-season hopes alive.
MARSHALL, Texas – Leading from start to finish, East Texas Baptist University shot 54 percent from the floor as picking up an American Southwest Conference East win in Ornelas Gym over Louisiana College (5-10/5-8), 85-78. ETBU made 46 percent of their three-point shots and a season best 83 percent from the foul line (25-of-30).
MARSHALL, Texas – Despite only turning the ball over only 13 times, Mississippi College netted 21 points off of the East Texas Baptist University (7-11/3-9) mistakes pushing forward to take the game away from the Tigers, 82-70. ETBU had as large as a five-point lead in the second half but could not over come MC six three-pointers (66 percent) and 56 percent shooting from the floor.
MARSHALL, Texas – It came down to free throws as the difference in the game for East Texas Baptist University shooting only 57 percent missing eight overall as they fell to LeTourneau University (7-9/6-4), 64-58. LeTourneau missed just two free throws (86 percernt) and ETBU went only 11-of-19 in the loss as they fell to 7-10 and 3-8 in the ASC East.
MARSHALL, Texas – It was twice the fun in Ornelas Gymnasium for East Texas Baptist University earning an upset win, 84-82, in double overtime against the University of Texas-Tyler (11-5/6-4) as two players recorded double-doubles and five players finished with double figures. Texas-Tyler was just a half-game out of first place heading into tonight’s game and needed a win to propel them into a first-place tie with Texas-Dallas but now are a game back at 6-4 in the ASC East. This is the second time in two weeks that ETBU has upset one of the top teams in the ASC in Ornelas Gym.
CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – East Texas Baptist University had a hard time shutting down a hot-shooting University of the Ozarks team as they fell on the road in American Southwest Conference East play, 81-65. Ozarks shot 55 percent overall but mad 75 percent of the shots in the second half from the floor. ETBU falls to 6-9 overall and 2-7 in the ASC East.
RICHARDSON, Texas – With the game tied at 15 in the first half East Texas Baptist University (6-8/2-6) scored only one point over five minutes at the University of Texas-Dallas (10-4/6-3) put 16 points on the board for a 15-point advantage taking control of the game. Texas-Dallas went onto to take the American Southwest Conference East game, 79-49.
