The Regents scored the opening basket of the game but it was all CUC from there, as the Cougars built up a 17 point halftime lead. They then finished off their fifth straight win by a final score of 86-76.
Heading down the street for the latest edition of the Division street rivalry, the Concordia University Chicago men’s basketball team put together a gritty effort on Wednesday night to pick up their third straight NACC win. It was a come-from-behind win for CUC, overcoming a 13 point deficit in the first half and a five-point halftime deficit to pick up the 68-60 win.

Steve Kollar has been appointed the 21st head coach in Concordia University Chicago men's basketball history. Kollar comes to Concordia Chicago following a four year stint as head coach at Blackburn University.

CUC looks to play spoiler down the stretch. A back and forth game, Concordia-Chicago were able to win a thriller when Israel Dosie hit a game winning three in the final seconds of the game.
Head Coach Randy Rogers made some adjustments to the starting lineup, and the Cougars responded early taking a eight point lead into the half. They then played an even more impressive second half that included a 15-0 run that allowed CUC to run away with it 81-63.
The Cougars came out scorching hot in the first half shooting 50 percent from the floor but still trailed at the half. Benedictine then flexed their muscles and pulled away in the second half.
The Division Street rivalry was renewed tonight with a thrilling contest. If act two is anything as exciting as tonight, fans from both schools are in for an exciting contest on February 14th. CUC made a fantastic run midway through the second half to take round one 87-72 over the Stars.
