Cougars Dominate In Blowout Win Over Dominican

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Looking for their third win this week, the Concordia University Chicago Men's Basketball team renewed the Division Street rivalry today when they headed down the street to Dominican. In their most dominate performance of the season, CUC had seven different players score in double figures in route to a 104-64 win over the Stars.

 

TURNING POINT

  • A Charlie Reznikoff free throw tied the game at seven with 15:36 remaining in the half. That sparked a 20-0 run over five minutes. Brent Hatten capped the run with a three that made it 25-7 CUC with 10:34 remaining in the half.

 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • CUC knocked down 15 threes in the game. They have now hit 36 threes in the last two games.
  • Raushaun Amos had another strong outing, finishing with 18 points on 6-9 shooting, including five threes, six rebounds and three steals.
  • Xeo Golding scored 14 points in the first half.
  • Kenta Jones had a career high 11 points on 4-5 shooting.
  • Jaxon Gaddie had a career high 14 points, including a perfect 5-5 from the free-throw line.
  • Neil O'Donnell had a career high ten rebounds and seven assists to go along with two steals.
  • The win was the fourth straight over Dominican and the seventh in the last ten games.
  • It was the third time this season CUC shot above 50 percent from the field.

  • Dominican scored the first four points of the game, before CUC grabbed their first lead of the day on a Reznikoff three with 16:33 remaining in the half.
  • CUC took the lead for good on a Reznikoff layup with 14:47 remaining.
  • The Cougars then blew the game wide open with a 20-0 run over five minutes of play that extended the lead to 25-7. CUC went 7-11 from the field and 4-6 from deep during the run.
