Catholic Prevails Over Western Connecticut, Advance to NCAA Second Round
March 06, 2026The Catholic men's basketball team traveled to Tufts to take on Western Connecticut in the First Round of the DIII NCAA Tournament, in the first ever meeting between the two programs, on Friday afternoon. The Cardinals were able to sustain a second half rally from the Wolves, making the needed plays in the final minutes of the action, to come away with a 71-69 victory to advance to the Second Round of the tournament. -
Catholic Drops Overtime Thriller at Susquehanna
February 11, 2026The Catholic men's basketball team traveled to Susquehanna on Wednesday night in the first of two road games this week for the team. Despite an electric rally from a 16-point halftime deficit to leading late in the second half, the Cardinals lost in a thriller against the River Hawks at the buzzer in overtime, 81-79. -
Gellene Drops Career-High in Points in Commanding Win Over Moravian
February 07, 2026The Catholic men's basketball team celebrated the 25th anniversary of the 2001 National Championship team, welcoming back several players and staff members from the team for a halftime ceremony. On the court, Catholic squared off with Moravian looking to pick up its second victory over the Greyhounds in the season. The Cardinals lit it up from the field throughout the game, shooting 53 percent as a team, their second-best shooting percentage of the season, to run away with a 97-69 victory over the Greyhounds. -
Catholic, La Crosse get big comebacks
March 14, 2025Catholic came from 19 points down in the second half, while UW-La Crosse rallied from 16 points down and the Cardinals and Eagles kept their teams in the NCAA Tournament for another night, as Catholic defeated Roanoke in overtime and UW-La Crosse knocked off Illinois Wesleyan. Meanwhile, WashU got the better of Wisconsin Lutheran again in the rematch, and the No. 1 seeds all advanced, handily. -
