    Bluffton University Head Coach Chad Shutler has been named the Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year following a record-shattering 2015-16 women's basketball campaign for the Beavers! He was honored by D3hoops.com less than two weeks after being selected the Heartland Conference Coach of the Year. It marks the first time in Bluffton women's basketball history for both of those prestigious honors.

Wisconsin-Whitewater used its extensive tournament experience to pull away from the Beavers late in the fourth period for a 66-54 victory on Friday, March 4.

    Four members of the Bluffton University women’s basketball team received postseason honors when the Heartland Conference handed out its top awards on Wednesday, March 2. Sophomore Macey Sheerer (Bucyrus) and junior Rachel Beining (Ottoville) were both named First Team All-Heartland Conference, the first time in school history that Bluffton has placed two women on the First Team.

    The Bluffton University women’s basketball team earned its first-ever HCAC Tournament title on Saturday, Feb. 27, with a 52-46 victory over the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The win also locks the Beavers into their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. With the win, the Beavers improved to 25-2 on the year and finished with an unblemished 14-0 mark in the Sommer Center.

The win clinches a first round bye in the upcoming HCAC tournament, securing a top two seed with a 15-2 conference record.

    Bluffton's MACEY SHEERER (Bucyrus) was recently named Academic All-District by CoSida. Sheerer was named First Team All-District. The sophomore was one of just two Heartland Conference women's basketball players to be honored in District 7. Sheerer is the first-ever Bluffton women's basketball player to be recognized as Academic All-District by CoSIDA.

    The #24 Bluffton University women’s basketball team capitalized on a great first half of basketball and held on for a 74-60 victory over rival Defiance College on Wednesday, Feb. 10 in the Sommer Center.   • No. 25 Beavers unable to overcome Transy's first half

    Although the Bluffton University women outscored Transylvania 27-23 in the second half, a 42-30 deficit at the break proved too much to overcome as the Beavers dropped their second straight HCAC Saturday contest by a final score of 65-57. The Pioneers improved to 15-6 overall and 11-3 in the Heartland Conference, while Bluffton slipped to 19-2 and 12-2 in the HCAC.

    The Bluffton University women’s basketball team resumed their winning ways with a hard-fought 59-41 road victory over the Manchester University Spartans on Wednesday, Feb. 3. The win was Bluffton's 19th of the season, giving this year’s team the most victories in school history, one season after the 2014-15 squad went 18-9.

    All streaks must come to an end, and that was the case for the #21 Bluffton University women’s basketball team as they fell to the Rose-Hulman Institute of the Technology, 57-50, in Terre Haute, Ind. on Saturday, Jan. 30. The loss was Bluffton’s first of the season, as they now stand 18-1 overall and 11-1 in HCAC play.

    As Bluffton's march toward a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship continues, the women notched their first-ever appearance in the D3hoops.com national Top 25 poll when it was unveiled on Monday afternoon. The Beavers have been receiving votes for the past few weeks, but consecutive home Saturday drubbings of Hanover and Franklin, two teams that had a combined mark of 75-11 against Bluffton, propelled the women to #21 in the nation.

The Beavers improved their record to a spotless 16-0 and make the turn in conference play with a 9-0 mark. The victory also marked career win 121 for Head Coach Chad Shutler, tying him with Michelle Durand for the most victories in Bluffton women's basketball history!

Bluffton stays perfect at 13-0 overall and 6-0 in the Heartland Conference, while Anderson slipped to 3-10 overall and 2-4 in the HCAC.

    The Bluffton University women’s basketball team had five scorers in double figures and kept its record unblemished with a convincing 95-64 victory over the Wooster College Scots on Friday, Dec. 18. The Beavers improve to 8-0 on the year, while Wooster slipped to a respectable 5-4. The eight straight victories have Bluffton all alone in the record books, moving past the 1978-79 and 1979-80 squads that combined for seven consecutive wins over two seasons!
