Aurora wins NACC Tournament Championship in thrilling fashion
February 25, 2018Aurora University will represent the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference after the Spartans claimed the 2017-2018 NACC men's basketball Tournament title on Saturday night on the Aurora University campus and Lancaster Court in Thornton Gymnasium. The top-ranked Spartans of Aurora University defeated long-time rival Benedictine University 76-71 in yet another thrilling match-up between the programs. -
Spartans advance to NACC Tournament Championship with win over Edgewood
February 23, 2018The 2017-2018 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference men's basketball Tournament Semi-Final round was welcomed to the Aurora University campus and Lancaster Court in Thornton Gymnasium on Friday, February 23. The top-ranked Spartans of Aurora University defeated #6 Edgewood College 76-63 in the night cap to advance to the NACC Tournament Championship on Saturday, February 24 at 7:30 p.m. AU will face long-time rival Benedictine University who earlier in the night defeated Concordia University Wisconsin 69-67. -

Lancaster retires at Aurora
July 11, 2016After 30 seasons at Aurora, including 22 as the Spartans' head men's basketball coach, James Lancaster has decided to retire from coaching. He is the latest in a line of long-time men's coaches to retire this offseason. Aurora named assistant Lance Robinson as his replacement. -
Aurora men's basketball makes key addition for 2015-2016 season

January 31, 2012The Aurora University Spartan men's basketball team hosted Northern Athletics Conference opponent Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) Tuesday night. The Spartans looked for payback in Tuesday night's game as MSOE got the best of Aurora earlier on in the season with a 72-55 victory. Thanks to great defense and timely offense Aurora was able to defeat the Raiders 57-37. -

Taking, getting a chance
January 20, 2005It was four years ago that Larry Welton thought that the persistent annoyance that was aching his left knee was “growing pains.” This was someone, who after all, sprouted 12 inches during his sophomore year of high school and Welton thought his bones were still adjusting. He would learn soon that it was a much more serious problem.
