Regals Drop SCIAC Contest to Bulldogs

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Cal Lutheran women's basketball fell 73-57 to Redlands in a SCIAC matchup at Gilbert Arena on Saturday evening. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was all Redlands from the opening tip. The Bulldogs (5-5, 2-1 SCIAC) jumped out to a commanding 28-11 lead in the first quarter and continued their momentum into the second quarter, taking a 48-21 lead into halftime.

The Regals (3-3, 0-2 SCIAC) found its footing in the third, ignited by a spark from Alline Ballard. The Regals outscored the Bulldogs 22-16, with Ballard tallying 10 of her game-high 21 points in the period. 

In the fourth quarter, the Regals continued to battle, cutting the lead to 65-52 midway through the frame. Ballard and Aliya DiMuro combined for several key buckets, but the Bulldogs had an answer with timely baskets to maintain control and secure the win.
