No. 16/11 Oglethorpe Stops Sewanee Women’s Basketball’s Winning Streak

ATLANTA - The Sewanee women's basketball team saw its three-game winning streak come to an end at Oglethorpe, falling to the Stormy Petrels, 81-51, from the Dorough Field House on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Oglethorpe started the contest with a 25-12 first quarter thanks to a 17-5 run in the first six minutes of the quarter.

-The Petrels ultimately put the contest away in the second stanza with a 20-7 quarter thanks to a 9-of-19 mark from the field and out-rebounding the Tigers, 18-7.

-The Petrels, now winners of their last 20 games, are ranked 16th in the D3hoops.Com poll and 11th in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Ellie Treanton led the Tigers with 12 points and added five assists and four rebounds.

-Kinsley Logan and Abby Young each contributed 11 points.

OGLETHORPE KEY STATISTICS
-Sydni Donovan posted a double-double off the bench with 11 points and rebounds each.
