ROSEMONT (PA) – Delaware Valley University senior center Sam Foy scored 21 of her career-high 26 points in the second half as the Aggies came from behind to defeat host Rosemont College, 76-68, in a non-conference win.

It was the second victory in a row for DelVal, which upped its record to 2-5. The Ravens dropped to 1-5.

Foy's previous career-high was 22 points against King's College last year. Se nearly matched that in the second half alone as she was 8-for-10 from the field (3-for-5 from 3-point land) and add a pair of free throws during those final 20 minutes.

The game saw Rosemont hold the advantage for most of the first half as it was up by as many as 11 before taking a 40-31 lead into the break. Sophomore Danielle Skedzielewski and freshman Ashley Smink kept the Aggies in it with 10 points apiece.

The Ravens were still ahead by seven, 44-38, in the third quarter when DelVal went on a 7-0 run to take its first lead since it was up 8-7 in the first five minutes of the contest. Foy had four points in the spurt. Rosemont responded with a 10-4 run over the final five minutes of the third for a 54-49 advantage.

The fourth quarter belonged to the Aggies as they outscored the Ravens, 27-14. They did so by shooting 58.3 percent from the field (7-for-12) and going 11-for-15 from the foul line. Meanwhile, Rosemont was just 4-for-18 from the field (22.2 percent).

Foy gave DelVal the lead at 57-56 as she drilled a 3-pointer with 6:32 remaining. The teams then went back and forth for the next four minutes before the Ravens scored four straight for a 65-61 lead with 2:31 to go.

The rest of the game belong to the Aggies, beginning with a Foy bomb and a layup by Smink. Smink added two free throws for a three-point lead with 1:25, but Rosemont quickly countered with a Shirle Brown layup. Smink sank two more from the foul line with 34.9 seconds to go and the Ravens hit one of two on the trip to the stripe as DelVal had a 70-68 lead.

The Aggies broke the Rosemont press and Monika Smallwood hit a wide-open layup with 27.1 ticks left. Smink and Foy each went 1-for-2 from the foul line and Sarah Wills ended the scoring with two free throws with seven seconds left for the eight-point win.

DelVal finished with more free throws (30) than field goals (20) as it went to the foul line 37 times. Smink was 11-for-12 from the stripe and finished with 19 points and five steals. Skedzielewski sank 12 of her 15 free throw attempts and ended with 18 points and eight rebounds. Wills had team-highs of nine rebounds and five assists and Smallwood added six points and six boards. Amber Grohowski and Nicole Smythe combined for seven points and eight rebounds.

Brown notched 23 points, 12 rebounds and five steals for the Ravens. Jasmyn Parker added 17 points and three boards.
