GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Four players reached double figures as the Gwynedd Mercy Women's Basketball Team shrugged off a slow start to claim their seventh win in a row in a 72-55 win Wednesday evening over Rosemont on Senior Night.

Junior Nicole Dombrowski registered 18 points and 15 rebounds, both career highs, and added three blocks and pair of steals. Charlotte Kucowski added 14, Olivia Bradford netted 12, and Bianca Adams scored 11 as the Griffins (20-4, 14-1 CSAC) hit the 20-win mark for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

Leilani Naone-Carter led the Ravens (12-12, 8-7 CSAC) with a game-high 21 points and chipped in 11 boards. Jasmyn Parker kicked in 12 points, hitting four of the team's six three-pointers and teammate Brianna Macauley contributed 10 points and 10 caroms off the bench.

Prior to the game, the team and coaching staff honored its seniors, Bradford and Chandler DiFebbo, along with team manager Tonishia Sheed.

A frustrating first quarter put GMercyU in a 15-0 deficit, as the team missed its first 12 shots of the game. Gwynedd was able to get on the board with 1:08 in the period on two free throws from Adams. The squad would put together a little spurt to end the stanza as Kucowski would hit from downtown and Bradford was able to putback a miss to beat the buzzer and suddenly it was a 15-7 game after one.

Gwynedd would finally get its first lead of the contest with 2:49 before the half on a driving bucket from Adams for a 27-26 score. The Ravens countered with five-straight points, all from Naone-Carter and would eventually take a 33-30 lead into the break.

After shooting just 28% in the first half, the third quarter saw the squad go 8-for-18 (44%) and hold Rosemont to just a 5-for-19 mark. The Griffins would gnaw at the deficit and take the lead for good (39-38) with 5:43 on a bucket from sophomore Julianna Hoisington. Later, Hoisington would hit a trey  with seven ticks remaining in the frame to extend the lead to 52-41 after three.

GMercyU would open the fourth on a 10-2 run and not look back, hitting two of their four threes on the night and go a perfect 6-for-6 at the line while shooting 46% to keep the lead in double figures the rest of the way.

Game Notes: Gwynedd had a season-high 16 steals, and scored 30 points off of 26 Rosemont turnovers…The Griffins almost had three players with a double double, as Bradford snared a season-high nine rebounds and Kucowski grabbed eight…Kucowski's five steals tied a career-high, while DiFebbo's five assists also tied a personal best.

Gwynedd Mercy closes out the regular season on Saturday at Marywood. Both with 14-1 conference records, the winner will claim the top seed in next week's CSAC Tournament. GMercyU, who has clinched at least a first-round bye, will host a semifinal game here at The Griffin Complex next Wednesday at 6 p.m.
