HOLLAND, Mich. – Hope College built a double-digit lead five minutes into the contest and it never looked back in scoring an 88-62 victory over Albion College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association women's basketball action.
Maura McAfee scored six early points for the Flying Dtrand Brittany Berry and Mandy Traversa added 3-point baskets.
Darian Payne scored a second chance basket for Albion to make the score 12-4, but that was the last time the Britons trailed by single digits. Payne produced 16 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to achieve her fifth double-double of the season.
Sophomore Olivia Savage and first-year players Tori Henning and Catie Neary added eight points apiece for the Britons.
Hope's Traversa led all players with 28 points.
Albion returns home at 3 p.m. Saturday for a MIAA game against Adrian College.
