DePauw Makes First 13 Shots of Second Half; Rallies for Win over Blue Devils

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw trailed Wisconsin-Stout by three points at the intermission but the Tigers knocked in their first 13 field goal tries of the second half and coasted to an 80-56 victory over the Blue Devils in the second game of the Amy Hasbrook Memorial Classic.

The Tigers, ranked 13th in the latest Division III Coaches' Poil and 15th by D3hoops.com, improved to 8-1, while UW-Stout dropped to 3-8. DePauw faces Millsaps in the final game of the Classic, tomorrow at 3 p.m. Complete information on the Classic is available from the official site.

DePauw held the lead for much of the first half and was up by as many as eight at 24-16 but the Blue Devils went on an 11-2 run to grab a 27-26 advantage. Brea Boomer's put-back layup at the first-half buzzer gave UW-Stout a 33-30 edge at the break.

The Tigers scored the first 12 points of the second half in the opening 3:10 and didn't miss from the field until 9:17 remained and the lead was 63-39.

DePauw shot 52.5 percent (31-59) from the floor including 70.4 percent (19-27) in the second half, while the Blue Devils hit 33.9 percent (20-59) from the floor and just 29.2 percent (7-24) in the second half. The Tigers held a 39-34 edge on the boards including 20-9 in the second half.

Emma Ondik led five DePauw double-figure scorers with 17, while Savannah Trees and TaylorHoward each scored 13. Hannah Douglas and Abby Keller followed with 10 points apiece. Kellerhauled down nine rebounds and Douglas dished out five assists in the win.

Boomer paced UW-Stout with 11 points, while Kyleigh Hebert recorded four assists. Four different Blue Devils had four rebounds each.
