ARLINGTON, Va. – The Lehman College women's basketball team dropped a 93-87 decision to Albright (Penn.) College on Sunday, in the Consolation Round of the Pablo Coto Invitational, hosted by Marymount University. Lehman is now 0-2, while Albright is 1-1.

Juniors Karrin Walker (New York, N.Y./Richard R. Green) and Jennifer Navarro (Jamaica, N.Y./Grover Cleveland) each scored 23 points for Lehman, who next will play in the Cedar Crest Tournament next weekend.

Tonight, the Lightning (0-2 overall) led at the half, 46-43, shooting 46.9% from the field. Walker paced the offense with 17 points, making five of her seven shots from the field, including all three three-point attempts.

In the second half, Lehman jumped out to a 12-point lead early, 59-47, as Navarro drained one of her signature three-pointers. The resilient Lions chipped away at that lead, and had it down to just one point at the 11:35 mark. But on Lehman's next possession, Navarro hit another shot form beyond the arc, and Lehman upped the lead to 69-65. Moments later, after a pair of Albright free throws, sophomore Amely Del Rosario (Bronx, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) hit her own three-ball, and the lead was back up to five.

Albright finally took the lead at 6:27, on a fastbreak layup. Walker hit a pair of free throws on Lehman's next possession, and the lead switched back to the Lightning. The lead would swell back to five points in favor of the Lightning with 3:38 to go, when junior forward Luisayra Madrigal (Bronx, N.Y./Msgr. Scanlan) hit a pair of free throws.

As the game wound down, Alright scored six straight points to take an 88-85 lead with less than one minute to play. Navarro made a pair of free throws, and the lead was back to just one point, with 32 ticks left. Albright made their free throws down the stretch, and held on for the 93-87 final.

Del Rosario finished the game with 18 points, seven rebounds, six steals, and six assists. Walker and junior Yarmese Jones (Astoria, N.Y./William C. Bryant) each added seven rebounds.
