GREENSBORO, N.C. – Gabby Oglesby collected 21 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and a steal in Guilford College's 73-42 home win over Bridgewater College Saturday.
The Quakers (15-4, 7-3 ODAC) held an opponent to fewer than 50 points for the 10th time this year and won for the fifth time in six games. Bridgewater (6-12, 4-7 ODAC), which defeated Guilford Nov. 23, shot just 31.4% from the floor and turned the ball over 18 times.
Oglesby scored 13 points in the second half, including four in 9-0 Guilford run to start the second half. Her two free throws capped the spurt and opened a 41-25 edge with just under 17 minutes to play. After Bridgewater's Cassidy Burkholder scored the Eagles' first points of the half, the Quakers reeled off another 11 straight points, seven by Kayla Adams.
Oglesby made seven of 11 shots from the floor and all seven free throws. She matched her season scoring high and paced three Quakers in double-figure scoring. Adams finished with 15 points and Morgan King added 11 points and nine rebounds. Oglesby and King helped Guilford outscore Bridgewater, 34-6, in the paint. The Quakers netted 26 points off of the Eagles' 18 turnovers.
Burkholder's 13 points and five rebounds paced Bridgewater. Holly Morgan added eight.
Guilford visits league-rival Lynchburg College Wednesday (2/5) at 7 pm.
