Balanced Effort Leads Cabrini Past Centenary

RADNOR, Pa. – Four players scored in double figures for Cabrini as the Cavaliers earned a 75-48 victory over Centenary College in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Saturday.
 
Centenary, which was limited to its lowest scoring output of the season, saw it record drop to 4-8 overall and 2-2 against CSAC competition. The Cyclone shot 35 percent (16-45) from the field, compared to 45 percent (31-68) by the Cavaliers. Cabrini remained unbeaten in league play, improving to 5-0.
 
FreshmenMallory George (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) and Jessie Sharr (Belvidere, N.J./Belvidere) both scored nine points to pace the Cyclones, while seniors Nicole Collins (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) and Klarissa Perry (Englewood, N.J./Dwight Morrow) each chipped in eight points. George was held below 13 points for the first time this season.
 
Perry grabbed a team-best eight rebounds and Collins dished out a trio of assists.
 
In 24 minutes off the bench, Amber Keys scored a game-high 16 points on 8-of-14 shooting. Annie Rivituso and Brittany Sandone both added 11, while Kristina Startare tallied 10 points. A total of 11 Cavaliers got into the scoring column.
 
Cabrini led by as many as 16 points during the first half before a George layup made the score 35-21 at intermission.
 
Centenary cut the deficit as small as 10 points after sophomore Ally Fugnitti's (Wood-Ridge, N.J./Wood-Ridge) triple at the 17:44 mark, but Cabrini answered with the game's next seven points. The Cavaliers put the game away with a 14-1 run that spanned nearly five minutes midway through the half.
 
The Cyclones return to Pennsylvania on Monday when they visit Neumann at 7:00 pm.
