RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's basketball defended its home floor for the 20th consecutive time today, as the Cavaliers scored a 75-48 win over the visiting Centenary College Cyclones. The victory keeps the Blue and White perfect in CSAC play at 5-0 and improves it to 10-3 overall.
The Cavalries displayed a balanced scoring attack in today's win, with five p[layers tallying at least eight points. Junior Amber Keys led the way with 16 points and eight rebounds, both game highs. Seniors Brittany Sandone and Annie Rivituso added 11 points each, while sophomore Kristina Startare added 10 points.
While Cabrini shot 45.6% from the floor and knocked down six three pointers, it was the Blue and White's defensive effort that was on display. The Cavaliers held the Cyclones to just 35.6% shooting. The Cyclones committed 27 turnovers on the day, which led to 26 Cabrini points.
The Blue and White also commanded the lane, out rebounding Centenary 40-35, including 13 offensive rebounds which led to 10 second chance points. Cabrini also outscored the Cyclones 44-18 in the paint.
Senior Colleen Stewart chipped in with eight points, while junior Megan Decker and sophomore Dana Peterson added five points each. Rivituso claimed six rebounds and blocked a season high four shots. Decker grabbed five boards and joined Startare and sophomore Meghan Martin with five assists each.
Freshmen Mallory George and Jessie Sharr led the Cyclones (4-8, 2-2 CSAC) with nine points each, while senior Klarissa Perry paired eight points and eight rebounds.
The Cavaliers will step out of conference play on Monday as they host the Delaware Valley College Aggies (7-4, 1-1 Freedom). Game time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
