Fisher Begins Beaver Career with Back-to-Back Double-Doubles but Beavers Fall in Maryland

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD – What a remarkable start to her Beaver career. Freshman forward Bria Fisher followed her 10 points, 17 rebounds performance with 15 points and 10 rebounds but the City College of New York women's basketball team (0-1) fell to St. Mary's College, 96-40, in day two of the St. Mary's Maryland Tip-Off Classic in the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics and Recreation Center Arena on Saturday afternoon.

Fisher visited the charity stripe 12 times and connected on seven free throws but the Beavers struggled to shoot the ball as CCNY shot 25 percent from the floor.

Junior Syreeta Williams added 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting while Taylor Pompilio added  five rebounds in 25 minutes off of the Beavers bench.

CCNY travels to Patchogue, New York to face St. Joseph's College (LI) as part of a men's/women's doubleheader scheduled for a 3:00 PM start.
