Solid Shooting Keys Baruch Win Over Lehman (71-52)

The Baruch College Bearcats defeated the Lightning of Lehman College, 71-52, in a CUNYAC contest played on Friday night at John Jay College in New York City.

The Bearcats, who play their next four games at home in the ARC Arena, finished the road portion of their regular season schedule this evening by connecting on 6-of-12 from 3-point range and 11-of-13 from the free throw line.

They also shot 43.3 percent (13-30 fg, 3-5 3fg) in the second half and dominated the boards with a resounding 59-37 rebounding advantage to run away with the 71-52 victory in a home game that Lehman hosted at John Jay College.


Jessica Duleba led the way with a solid double-double of 26 points, 16 rebounds (seven offensive), five assists and two steals. Folashade Akinde totaled 11 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots. Alyscia Jordanblocked four shots and grabbed seven rebounds in 17 minutes of action off the bench.

The Lightning struggled shooting only 30.9 percent (21-68) the entire game. Amanda De La Cruz led the Lightning effort with 10 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and three steals.

Baruch will return to action on Monday, February 6, to play the first of four home games in the next 10 days. Tip off against CCNY in the ARC Arena is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
