NEW YORK, N.Y. - Playing without an injured Leslie Mencia and Jasmin Castro-Lopez, the Lehman Lightning was defeated 71-52 by Baruch on Friday night at John Jay College, allowing the Bearcats to complete the regular season sweep and improve to 7-2 in the City University of New York Athletic Conference.

Jaleesa Gordon finished as the high scorer with 13 points (5-17 FG) and 10 rebounds for a Lightning attack that never found its rhythm.   Amanda De La Cruz also made it into double digits with 10 points, but could not find the range either, shooting 4-of-19 from the floor.

Baruch outrebounded the Lightning by a wide margin, 59-37, led by Jessica Duleba's 16 boards.  Duleba was also the game's high scorer with 26 points on 9-of-15 shooting.  Baruch's Alyscia Jordan finished with just two points but grabbed seven rebounds, blocked four shots and was a constant presence in the middle for the Bearcats.

Despite not leading throughout the entire first half, the Lightning managed to cut the Baruch lead to seven, 47-40, with 8:50 remaining on two free throws by De La Cruz.  Baruch's Kiara Johnson followed that basket with a huge three-pointer and Duleba then hit two free throws to return the lead to 12.

A basket by Jaleesa Gordon with 5:29 left cut the Lightning deficit back to 10, but Baruch answered with a 13-0 run to put the game away.

With the loss Lehman falls to 6-4 in CUNYAC.
